here at the stepp house there has been a lot of praying going on for this precious little boy, stellan.  this incredible little boy is an absolute miracle.  if you would like, please visit “MckMama’s” website and be completely uplifted by this story and simply this family’s faith.  simply click on the link with stellan’s picture on our side bar and you will be directed to this site.  i know i am inspired to be a more faithful christian and a better wife and mother after reading this blog.  most importantly though, please pray for him.  God has already worked one miracle and we (the thousands of people all over the world that follow her blog) are praying for another miracle.  and while you’re on God’s prayer hot line, please also pray for jonah and abby.  jonah is suffering from this very rare skin disorder that causes blisters all over his body every time something, even a paci or a cloth diaper, is rubbed against his skin.  abby is a 5 year old little adopted girl from guatemala and she is truly in a war with leukemia right now.  pray. pray. pray.

the following are 5 things that jackson has recently learned how to do.

1) point
2) clap
3) wave
4) hug
5) open cabinets

jackson loves to drive. even though his little feet aren’t anywhere near the pedals, he loves to be behind the wheel. whether it be his firetruck, an arcade game, or my dad’s mustang, he wants to be the driver. we can’t even get out of a parking lot without giving him at least five minutes in my lap gripping the steering wheel.

so last week, we went out to eat with my parents, and my dad happened to spot an old car in the corner of the restaurant. upon further investigation, he noticed that it took quarters and apparently moved around. well, it didn’t take him long to get jackson in that little car, and before we knew it, he was driving. and believe me, this child knows exactly what to do with a steering wheel. if you want to see what i’m talking about, check out our video page.

being that “the chief” spends most of his time attached to my hip, it seems as though he has picked up on a few domestic items of interest.  whenever there is a fresh basket of laundry sitting on our living room floor, jackson takes it upon himself to take all of the clothes out of the basket and helps mama fold them displaces them along his usual crawling route.  he just looks up at me like “what ma, I’m helpin’.”  and because it seems as though I never have one cotton pickin’ minute to myself an hour of uninterrupted time to do housework, jackson also is on my hip whenever i vacuum.  and now, he and mr. dyson are inseparable.  maybe it’s because mr. dyson is approximately his size (in height anyways) or maybe because of the large orange ball that moves from side to side in game like fashion.  whatever it is jackson cannot resist the lure of the dyson.  quite frankly, i can’t either.  we both are in love with the dyson.  is it wishful thinking to hope this continues into his teenage years?

if you’ve seen our most recent video, then you know how much jackson loves to crawl. needless to say, he has already put some miles on his poor little knees.

our solution? knee pads.

what? i’m serious.

kelly found these little jobbers online, and once we got over our initial laughter, we ordered a pair. i think we were all a little apprehensive at first, but now they travel wherever we go. and while he can wear them over or under his pants, the real trick is keeping them on. there have been numerous occasions where he has wiggled them off and tried to eat them. nonetheless, you will probably see more than one picture of him sporting them around. now if only we had a pair for us.

we’ve been promising a video of jackson crawling for a while now.  well friends, the wait is over, and we are so stoked to roll out this latest video.  it was shot over the course of february, and we added the perfect soundtrack.  if you want to see our wild man in action, jump over to the video page.
