Sufficient Grace

Filed under: Story — Kelly @ 10:30 pm

Many of you know that I follow “MckMama’s” blog and if you don’t, now is the perfect time to visit her site and see exactly why I follow her blog.  She is quite an inspiration both spiritually and maternally.  Currently if you leave a comment on her blog, under her most recent post, she will donate $1 per comment to the organization called Sufficient Grace.  This organization offers bereavement support to those parents who have suffered the loss of an infant.  As most of you know this is a very dear part of my life, albeit not personally but professionally.  I have seen first hand the immense suffering parents have endured while giving birth to a stillborn or losing a newborn shortly after birth.  Gut wrenching does not even begin to describe the process.  So, please… go now and visit www.mycharmingkids.net and leave a comment to help support Sufficient Grace.  Oh, and please do so, if you can, before midnight.

the ballpark

this past weekend, we took jackson on his very first trip to the ballpark. most of you already know that baseball has played a significant role in my life. in fact, the vast majority of my existence has been spent on a baseball diamond. so, in honor of playing on the first american legion baseball team in henderson county (1998), i was asked to catch the first pitch of this year’s alumni game. of course, i wanted jackson to experience this day of fun as well, so we packed him up and introduced him to the world of baseball.

the smell of the food, the cracking of the bats, and the cheering of the crowd are just a few of the special characteristics of a baseball game. and jackson seemed to love every minute. he received a teddy bear upon arrival, and shortly thereafter, he snagged a runaway baseball that he played with the rest of the afternoon. but i believe the real highlight for him was meeting the official chick-fil-a cow. jackson couldn’t hardly contain his excitement and laughter as he touched the cow’s nose. it was absolutely adorable.

the whole day was refreshing, and i had actually forgotten how nice it is to be at the ballpark. i don’t want to get ahead of myself, but judging from jackson’s initial reaction, i think that baseball may be a part of his future as well.

new video – mother’s day 2009

Filed under: Story — Dusty @ 1:25 pm

this past weekend, we celebrated kelly’s very first mother’s day. it was such an incredible day, but what made it even more special was having jackson dedicated at church. so, in trying to figure out the perfect mother’s day gift for kelly, i knew that it needed to incorporate both of these moments in our lives. thus, a video was born. although the whole concept was really jackson’s idea, it was a team effort to produce it. our hope was to somehow show kelly just how much her two boys love her. please visit our video page to enjoy this little surprise.

new video – wave

Filed under: Story — Dusty @ 11:55 am

i know, it’s been a while since we posted a new video. but rest assured, this is the first of many new ones to come. as we mentioned before, jackson’s latest trick is waving. in fact, he has started waving to pretty much anyone who looks in his direction. amidst all the chaos, it is refreshing to see this sweet and friendly side of our wild little man. you can enjoy the video on our video page.
